Marina dell’Orso - Poltu Quatu

On the north eastern coast of Sardinia, called Costa Smeralda, is the Marina dell’Orso di Poltu Quatu. Located in a strategic position because it is easily accessible from every corner of the Mediterranean, it becomes the ideal base for those who want to sail in the La Maddalena Archipelago.

A glimpse of the red Caprera is stolen from Poltu Quatu, while La Maddalena, Santa Maria, Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli, Lavezzi, Cavallo and Corsica are just a little further on. Poltu Quatu, ("hidden port" in the local Gallura dialect), was born in 1987 and is the reproduction of an ancient fishing village, built around the classic circular square, with narrow alleys and perched houses.

The Marina dell’Orso by Poltu Quatu is a fjord shown on nautical charts with the name of Stintino dell’Orso. It is located between the bay of Liscia di Vacca and Baja Sardinia, facing the island of Caprera and the islet of the Capuchins. For the approach you can consider the Capo Ferro lighthouse, which is located 2 miles NE of the Marina entrance.
